Even in these grainy images, it's clear that MacGyver always has an escape plan.
In MacGyver's very first adventure, he climbs up a rocky bluff to save a Nuclear Physicist from certain death. He disarms a soviet warhead with a lowly paper clip, rigs a gun to go off as a distraction, and uses his trusty Swiss Army Knife to free the prisoner from a suspended wooden cage.
Not only that, but he uses a rock to convert a flare gun from a fighter jet into an impromptu rocket booster. He grabs the Physicist, uses the flare gun to propel them off a cliff, and deploys a parachute (likely made of duct tape) to bring them to safety.
